Responsibilities
- Collaborate with designers, product managers, engineers, and the Localisation team to identify localisation risks early in the design phase.
- Review Figma designs and provide technical and design insights to enhance localisation readiness prior to implementation.
- Identify and mitigate design risks such as text expansion, truncation, layout issues, bidirectional languages, and cross-market scalability.
- Develop and enhance tools, automation, and processes that enable Localisation QA to detect issues earlier and at scale.
- Define best practices and guidance for designers and engineers to ensure products are ready for localisation from the outset.
- Work with design teams on design systems, UI patterns, and content structures to enhance quality and minimize downstream issues.
- Conduct hands-on Localisation QA testing across various languages, platforms, products, and regions, including linguistic, functional, visual, and internationalisation testing.
- Lead complex localisation quality initiatives while also contributing to daily testing activities as necessary.
- Create and refine localisation test strategies that encompass linguistic, functional, visual, and internationalisation quality.
- Investigate complex localisation and internationalisation issues, collaborating with engineering, design, product, and localisation teams to find root causes and solutions.
- Establish localisation quality standards and ensure these considerations are integrated throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Design and develop software, internal tools, automation, and reusable services that enhance product quality and workflow efficiency.
- Build scalable software solutions that validate product experiences across design, development, and release stages.
- Contribute to codebases and frameworks that enhance quality signals, design consistency, and localisation support.
- Partner with software engineers to improve feature readiness and quality-by-design practices.
- Integrate validation and quality workflows into modern development environments and CI/CD pipelines.
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual work and enhance localisation and product quality across workflows.
- Design and implement tools, automation, and integrations that assist teams in reviewing designs and validating content.
- Prototype and test new approaches, measure their effectiveness, and develop successful solutions for broader team use.
- Act as a liaison among design, engineering, product, and localisation teams to align quality, scalability, and user experience goals.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex issues into actionable recommendations.
- Influence teams towards a design-led quality approach and contribute to planning, design reviews, and release readiness discussions.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Localisation team members, sharing best practices in engineering, automation, localisation, and quality.
- Foster a culture of innovation, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction, Design Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering, design technology, quality engineering, localisation engineering, or related product development roles.
- Proven hands-on experience in software development, with the capability to create tools, systems, integrations, or automation that address real product challenges.
- Experience collaborating closely with design teams and utilizing Figma workflows, including reviewing designs, prototypes, and user journeys.
- Understanding of localisation and internationalisation principles in digital products.
- Experience in localisation quality or testing across multilingual products, platforms, or regions.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Java.
- Hands-on experience with AI agents, plugins, or intelligent workflow tools.
- Familiarity with APIs, structured data, system integrations, and modern software development practices.
- Knowledge of product development lifecycle, Agile methodologies, and cross-functional delivery models.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong product thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to operate effectively across design, engineering, product, and localisation domains.
