Okta Architect Overview

WPP is seeking an experienced Okta Architect to join our team in London, United Kingdom. As a leading communications services group, WPP is dedicated to helping clients navigate change and achieve transformational growth through innovative technology solutions.

In this role, you will be part of WPP Enterprise Technology, which provides essential technology services to support our creative transformation initiatives. Your primary responsibility will be to define the OKTA target architecture and integration patterns, ensuring a secure and scalable identity platform.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design the OKTA architecture, tenancy model, and integration patterns.
• Establish standards for SSO, MFA, lifecycle management, and API access management.
• Oversee complex integrations and ensure partner-delivered designs meet WPP’s security standards.
• Embed zero-trust and security-by-design principles into the identity platform.
• Advise the product owner on platform direction and roadmap.
• Define architecture, patterns, and guidelines for Kyndryl’s implementation.
• Ensure compliance of partner-delivered designs with WPP’s security and resilience standards.
• Act as the design authority and approval gate for partner architecture decisions.

Qualifications:

• Expertise in OKTA architecture and identity platform design.
• Experience with federation, SCIM, OAuth/OIDC, and API access management.
• Knowledge of zero-trust and identity security architecture.
• Ability to design integrations across complex application environments.
• Experience in architecture documentation and serving as a design authority.
• Recognized architecture experience at an enterprise scale.
• Relevant architecture or platform certifications (e.g., TOGAF).
• A degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
• Ability to set target architecture, standards, and design patterns.
• Design with a focus on security, scalability, resilience, and total cost of ownership.
• Influence engineering and vendor teams without direct authority.
• Balance strategic ambition with pragmatic, deliverable decisions.
• Stay current with platform direction and emerging capabilities.
