This position offers an exciting opportunity for a Lead Software Engineer to join a dynamic engineering team in Central London. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing innovative solutions at the intersection of AI and the services industry, supporting a wide range of tax and legal professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a squad of software and QA engineers in creating products for both professionals and clients.
- Work closely with a Product Owner to prioritize tasks, allowing for a focus on technical leadership.
- Manage a team of around four developers, providing mentorship and guidance.
- Design and build software solutions from inception to deployment, ensuring high quality.
- Develop back-end services using C#/ASP.NET Core and engage in front-end development with TypeScript/React, ASP.NET MVC, or Blazor.
- Create cloud-first applications with strong unit test coverage and implement continuous delivery practices.
- Utilize Azure Kubernetes Service for containerization and deployment of applications.
- Work with Entity Framework for code-first data management against Azure SQL or NoSQL databases.
- Design resilient microservices that communicate via a cloud message bus.
- Maintain secure coding practices and uphold infrastructure standards.
- Enhance personal skills while sharing knowledge with team members.
- Build reusable components that can be utilized by other teams.
Requirements
- Proven hands-on experience in designing, specifying, and developing software solutions end to end.
- Ability to articulate how generative AI can address challenges in document management, workflow automation, and knowledge management.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring engineering teams.
- Strong proficiency in a modern object-oriented programming language, preferably C# or Java.
- In-depth understanding of software design patterns, clean code principles, and clean architecture.
- Experience in developing REST APIs and familiarity with messaging systems.
- Confidence in defining data models and working with various database systems.
- Experience in deploying user-facing web applications.
- A collaborative mindset with a strong commitment to Agile methodologies and best practices.
