To close the presentation without exiting PowerPoint 2013 , follow the below steps
1. Select File –> Close .
2. This will prompt you for a confirmation to save changes to the file in case you have modified the presentation from the last time you opened it. Select the option accordingly.
3. If it is an existing file and already the file is saved , you are done with the steps else you will be prompted with the “Save As” dialog. Provide the file name and click save.
