Join BAE Systems as an Undergraduate Software Engineer and embark on a 12-month placement starting in June 2027 at our Brough location. This role involves creating innovative software solutions for our advanced platforms, participating in the entire product lifecycle from concept to delivery and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop cutting-edge software solutions for complex, real-time systems and safety-critical applications.
- Complete assigned tasks related to requirements, design, implementation, and testing to a high standard and within set timelines.
- Conduct thorough testing on completed functionalities to ensure quality and performance.
- Create and maintain appropriate technical documentation for software projects.
- Engage in peer reviews of both personal and team members’ work products.
- Ensure adherence to project processes and software development practices.
Team Context
The Air Team at BAE Systems has a distinguished history in developing, manufacturing, upgrading, and supporting leading combat and fast jet trainer aircraft. We operate globally, providing design, production, and support for aircraft such as the Typhoon, F-35, and Tempest.
Qualifications
To qualify for this role, candidates must be on track to achieve at least a 2:2 Bachelor’s degree or a Master’s degree in relevant fields such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Software Development, Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline.
