The placement lasts for 12 months, starting on June 21, 2027, and offers a competitive salary of £25,900. You will be expected to work on-site for four days each week, with hybrid working options available.

Role Overview

As an Energetics Materials Scientist, you will support various activities within the BAE Systems Land UK business. Your primary focus will be on assisting in the development of new technologies related to energetic materials, as well as supporting product and process development across different production environments. You will collaborate with Engineering and Technology teams to ensure that products meet high-quality standards and performance requirements.

Core Responsibilities

• Assist the Engineering and Technology Teams in the development of new energetic materials and processes.
• Provide support to Energetic Material/Process subject matter experts by offering energetic material advice.
• Conduct practical assessments of energetic materials in laboratory or engineering settings.
• Prepare safety documentation, including risk assessments and COSHH assessments.

The Land Team

The Land Team is responsible for equipping the British Armed Forces and international customers with a variety of munitions products, including small arms ammunition, heavy artillery, tank ammunition, warheads, and payloads, with projects such as the Challenger 3 Battle Tank.
