Sr. Machine Learning Engineer Overview

Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) is seeking a dedicated and independent Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join their Visual Computing Group (VCG) in London. This role is pivotal in advancing the landscape of gameplay and live streaming through innovative research and development.

Role Overview

The VCG is tasked with designing and deploying cutting-edge neural networks and machine learning solutions aimed at enhancing game rendering and streaming systems, focusing on runtime efficiency, visual quality, and minimizing latency.

Key Responsibilities

• Enhance and develop core generative models for graphics and video processing applicable to live video streaming and game rendering.
• Conduct research and prototype innovative methods for graphics or video enhancement, as well as data generation pipelines utilizing generative models.
• Collaborate with team members to draft publications and submit patents.
• Contribute to core R&D efforts in partnership with other teams within Sony Interactive Entertainment.

Qualifications

• Possess a PhD or MSc in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Graphics, or a related field, or demonstrate equivalent skills through relevant work experience.
• Have at least 5 years of research experience in either industry or academia.
• Demonstrate a strong background in TensorFlow or PyTorch, along with proficiency in Python and related libraries for computer vision or graphics, with a minimum of 3 years of experience for ML engineers and 5 years for Senior ML engineers.
• Provide evidence of leading technical advancements, supported by at least one research publication in a prestigious conference such as CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, SIGGRAPH, or similar.
• Possess a solid understanding of neural network architectures, including the ability to formulate and test advanced loss functions.
• Have experience in designing and testing advanced neural network architectures tailored to specific tasks, and familiarity with training, validating, and evaluating deep neural network models on large datasets.
