Senior Software Engineer – Rendering API Overview

Join Sony Interactive Entertainment, the driving force behind the PlayStation brand, as a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Rendering API. This position is part of the Advanced Technology Group (ATG) within the Foundational Systems and Experiences Engineering (FSEE) team, which has been pivotal in enhancing game development for over 20 years.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and refining the rendering APIs that power PlayStation games. Your work will involve designing and implementing features that streamline game development processes and advance GPU programming capabilities. You will need to stay informed about industry trends and understand customer and business needs to guide your decisions effectively.

Your collaboration will extend across various teams, including platform software and hardware groups, as well as game developers. You will serve as an advocate for both game developers and platform teams, ensuring that both perspectives are represented in discussions and decisions. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence the future of console graphics programming, allowing you to work autonomously and focus on practical engineering tasks such as coding and debugging.

We are looking for candidates with a strong background in low-level graphics architecture and engineering, as well as experience writing rendering code for multiple APIs and consoles. You should possess the ability to balance detailed technical work with a broader vision and demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and long-term project responsibility.
