As a Senior / Staff Data Scientist at PlayStation, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how the company measures the impact of its products, features, and commercial initiatives. Your work will focus on world-class experimentation, causal inference, and applied data science, enabling teams to make informed business decisions.

Your responsibilities will include developing innovative measurement methodologies, designing robust measurement approaches, and applying advanced data science techniques to solve complex challenges. You will collaborate closely with various teams, including product, engineering, and analytics, to enhance the standard of experimentation and evidence-based decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop innovative methodologies for measurement in experimentation, causal inference, and advanced analytics.
• Design effective measurement strategies for randomized experiments and quasi-experimental methods.
• Research and prototype statistical, machine learning, and AI techniques to address measurement challenges.
• Utilize advanced data science techniques to support experimentation and facilitate business decisions.
• Establish best practices for experiment design and statistical analysis across teams.
• Collaborate with senior leaders to identify significant measurement opportunities.
• Work with engineering teams to enhance PlayStation’s experimentation platform.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor analysts and data scientists.
• Foster a culture of evidence-based decision-making.
• Stay updated with advancements in statistics and machine learning.
• Represent the team within PlayStation and promote technical excellence.

Requirements:

• Master’s degree or equivalent experience in a quantitative field; PhD preferred.
• 5+ years of industry experience in experimentation and causal inference.
• Expertise in experimental design and modern causal inference methods.
• Experience with advanced data science and machine learning techniques.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for analytical tasks.
• Ability to develop reusable analytical methodologies.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Curiosity and creativity in solving complex business problems.
