Bloombergâs Legal, Compliance & Risk Department is integral to supporting the company’s global operations. The team is composed of dedicated professionals who work collaboratively to tackle complex legal and compliance challenges while fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
We are currently looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead product strategy and ensure successful outcomes for Bloombergâs Client Compliance capabilities in our London office. This position requires a balance between understanding regulatory risks and commercial realities, focusing on solutions related to KYC, sanctions, export controls, and client eligibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of user needs, workflows, and data by collaborating with Compliance teams and other internal stakeholders to inform product decisions.
- Translate strategic objectives into a focused set of key problems and measurable outcomes, clearly identifying areas that will not be pursued.
- Collaborate with a senior engineering lead throughout the product lifecycle, from problem identification to discovery, delivery, and performance measurement, ensuring engineers are involved in user and stakeholder insights.
- Utilize prototypes, product data, and AI-assisted techniques to evaluate value, usability, feasibility, and viability before committing substantial engineering resources.
- Establish trust with Compliance and key partners by engaging them early in the process and resolving conflicts with data-driven evidence rather than simply adding requests to a feature roadmap.
- Take responsibility for outcomes by minimizing unnecessary manual reviews, enhancing decision accuracy and control effectiveness, and facilitating quicker client access while maintaining regulatory compliance.
- Guide modernization efforts, including legacy system migrations, vendor dependencies, and decisions between building or buying solutions based on the outcomes required by Bloomberg.
Qualifications
- Proven experience managing a technology-driven product area from start to finish, including strategy development, solution discovery, and accountability for outcomes rather than just roadmap execution.
- Strong product judgment based on user insights, data analysis, business context, and enabling technologies.
- Experience with contemporary product discovery and delivery methodologies, including rapid prototyping, assumption testing, and evaluating whether launched products met their intended goals.
- Ability to define and tackle complex problems within significant regulatory, operational, and technical constraints, even when the scope is not fully outlined.
- A history of effective collaboration with engineering teams at a peer level.
- Skill in building trust and making decisions in complex stakeholder environments using data, logical reasoning, and effective communication.
- A strong desire to learn and adapt, becoming knowledgeable in regulatory frameworks and operational systems.
- Experience in defining outcome metrics and utilizing data collection and analysis to assess the scope of problems, focus on viable solutions, and confirm whether those solutions achieved the desired outcomes.
- Practical knowledge of AI tools for discovery and prototyping, combined with sound judgment regarding their reliability.
We welcome applications from candidates with diverse backgrounds and experiences, particularly those with a background in financial services or regulated domains involving AML, KYC, sanctions, or financial crimes workflows. If you are interested in this opportunity, please apply now.
