Okta Architect Overview

WPP is seeking an experienced Okta Architect to join their Enterprise Technology team in London, United Kingdom. As a leading communications services group, WPP is dedicated to helping clients navigate change and achieve transformational growth through innovative technology solutions.

The Okta Architect will play a crucial role in defining the target architecture and integration patterns for WPP’s identity platform, ensuring it is secure and scalable. This position involves setting standards for various identity management processes and acting as a design authority for partner architecture decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design the architecture for OKTA, including tenancy models and integration patterns.
• Establish standards for Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), lifecycle management, and API access management.
• Oversee complex integrations and ensure partner-delivered designs align with WPP’s standards.
• Incorporate zero-trust principles and security-by-design into the identity platform.
• Advise the product owner regarding the platform’s direction and roadmap.
• Define the architecture, patterns, and guidelines that Kyndryl will follow in implementation.
• Ensure that partner-delivered designs and modifications comply with WPP’s security and resilience standards.
• Act as the design authority and gatekeeper for partner architecture decisions.

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in OKTA architecture and identity platform design.
• Proficiency in federation, SCIM, OAuth/OIDC, and API access management.
• Knowledge of zero-trust and identity security architecture.
• Experience in integration design across complex application environments.
• Proven experience in architecture documentation and serving as a design authority.
• Recognized architectural experience in relevant domains at an enterprise level.
• Possession of relevant architecture or platform certifications, such as TOGAF or vendor-specific architect tracks.
• A degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
• Ability to set target architecture, standards, and design patterns for the domain.
• Skills in designing for security, scalability, resilience, and total cost of ownership.
• Capability to influence engineering and vendor teams without direct authority.
• A balanced approach to strategic ambitions and practical, achievable decisions.
• Commitment to staying updated on platform direction and emerging capabilities.
