As a Network Design Engineer at Google, you will play a crucial role in shaping the infrastructure that supports millions of Internet users worldwide. You will be part of the Network Engineering team, which is responsible for ensuring the reliability and scalability of Google’s network. Your work will directly impact design and feature enhancements, ensuring smooth operations and efficient network performance.
Your primary responsibilities will include reviewing and enhancing network architecture standards, incorporating new products into planning and design, and evolving business processes throughout their lifecycle. You will also support the establishment of best practices in network planning and design, focusing on improving performance and reliability while reducing risks.
To qualify for this role, you should have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, along with at least 3 years of experience in network routing protocols, design, and troubleshooting. Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Go, or Python, as well as experience with coding/scripting languages and SQL scripts, is essential. Familiarity with CDN, IP transit/peering, and cloud technologies is also required.
In return, Google offers a competitive salary between â¬100,000 and â¬103,000, a 15% bonus target, equity options, and a comprehensive benefits package. This position allows for a hybrid working pattern, with locations available in Dublin, Ireland, and London, UK.
