Are you seeking a fulfilling opportunity in a specialized hearing implant center? We are currently looking for a Speech and Language Therapist to join our dedicated paediatric Hearing Implant Rehabilitation Team on a permanent basis. This role offers a unique chance for professionals to enhance their experience while working with infants, children, and young people who have conductive and severe to profound sensorineural hearing loss. The position involves a mix of joint clinic-based work, independent SLT assessments, and remote consultations.

Main Duties

• Provide a specialized hearing rehabilitation service as part of the regional hearing implant program at Addenbrooke’s Hospital.
• Assess patients’ communication skills to determine their suitability for hearing implants within a multidisciplinary team.
• Support patients in their communication post-implantation, primarily focusing on cochlear implants but also including other types of hearing implants.
• Liaise with local professionals and contribute to the planning, implementation, and evaluation of care as a specialist clinician.
• Participate in the development and maintenance of care pathways and engage in research and audit activities.

Qualifications and Experience

• A recognized qualification in speech and language therapy or pathology (BSc/MSc).
• A recognized qualification as a Teacher of the Deaf.
• Current full practicing registration with the appropriate professional regulatory bodies.
• Experience working with children with hearing implants in various settings.
• Significant postgraduate experience as a Speech and Language Therapist or Teacher of the Deaf.
• Knowledge of cochlear implants and various communication systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
