The Tripadvisor Group is seeking a skilled Machine Learning Scientist to join its dynamic Machine Learning Team in London. This role is pivotal in supporting the company’s marketing initiatives by applying advanced modeling techniques across various problem areas, including online advertising bidding, customer modeling, experimental design, revenue optimization, and more. Responsibilities

• Utilize machine learning models to address various core business challenges within the marketing domain.
• Identify and explore new opportunities for applying data science and machine learning across all marketing channels, including paid, organic, search, demand creation, affiliates, and CRM.
• Automate ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines to enhance data processing efficiency.
• Prototype, assess, deploy, and maintain new machine learning models in a production environment.
• Design and analyze A/B tests to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing strategies.
• Discover innovative methods for data analysis and interpretation.
• Communicate progress and findings from experiments to both technical and business stakeholders.

Requirements

• A PhD or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field is preferred, or a Master’s degree with at least 2 years of relevant practical experience.
• Strong knowledge of A/B test design and analysis.
• A solid background in machine learning and statistical methods.
• A firm understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Proficiency in Python, particularly with libraries such as Numpy, Pandas, and Scikit-learn for numerical and statistical programming.
• Ability to write and interpret complex SQL queries.
• Experience with big data technologies like Hive and Spark.
• A proven track record of leading the deployment and maintenance of machine learning models.
• Hands-on experience with AI-powered tools.
