We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join a growing team in Newmarket, Suffolk. This permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design and development of control panels and switchgear, ensuring compliance with relevant safety and legislative standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design control panels and switchgear to meet specific customer requirements while adhering to safety and legislative standards.
• Anticipate future legislation and advise customers on compliance with product, service, or equipment requirements.
• Produce high-quality manufacturing data, including schematic and layout drawings using AutoCAD.
• Create detailed reports such as bills of materials and test procedures.
• Specify and select electrical components for applications in the UK, EU, and internationally.
• Participate in design and quality reviews for both new and existing products.
• Collaborate with applications, sales, production, and quality teams, providing necessary technical support and guidance.
• Contribute to sales engineering effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues and recommending options and courses of action.
• Implement directives to drive change within the team.

Requirements

• Experience in designing control panels and low-voltage distribution boards or switchboards.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical.
• Ability to interpret various technical schematics and report formats, including electrical and mechanical designs.
