Scopely is seeking a Director of Operations for its Slate Development Group, with the opportunity to work remotely or in Barcelona on a flexible hybrid basis. This role is crucial for maintaining the momentum of game development at Scopely, a company dedicated to inspiring play and connecting millions of players worldwide.

The Director of Slate Operations will be responsible for managing the operational aspects of the Slate Development Group, ensuring effective processes and support for the Game Board and leadership team. This includes overseeing the Game Development Framework (GDF) to facilitate the transition of games from concept to launch, acting as the operational point of contact for in-development games, and driving operational excellence within the team.

Key responsibilities include:

• Overseeing the operational management of the Slate Development Group.
• Managing the Game Development Framework (GDF) for smooth game transitions.
• Acting as the primary operational contact for specific in-development games.
• Driving operational excellence and shaping service models.
• Implementing a cross-slate operating model for independent game teams.
• Organizing inputs and trade-offs for significant decisions.
• Leading a major project requiring end-to-end management.
• Monitoring investment decisions and tracking game progress.
• Assisting teams in overcoming operational challenges.
• Collaborating with marketing and leadership for successful game launches.
• Providing operational support and guidance through the GDF.
• Designing and executing research and playtest plans.
• Utilizing AI technologies to streamline information flow.

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

• A Bachelor’s degree; an MBA is a plus.
• At least 10 years of program/project management experience, with 5 years in the gaming industry.
• A strong understanding of game development and business models.
• Experience supporting senior executives in a fast-paced environment.
• The ability to manage multiple projects and navigate ambiguity.
• Proficiency in financial documents and KPIs.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to build trust with colleagues.
• Excellent writing and presentation skills.
• A detail-oriented and organized approach.
