Data Analyst Intern – Competency Management Overview

This internship position as a Data Analyst Intern within the Chief Engineer’s Office at GE Vernova is designed for individuals who are eager to gain hands-on experience in data analytics within an engineering context. The role focuses on analyzing data to support competency development in the Engineering and Technology function at Grid Solutions.

Essential Responsibilities

• Manage in-house Competency Assessment tools, including creating and modifying competency models, managing user accounts, and providing user support to employees and their people leaders.
• Assist in analyzing engineering competency data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using Excel, Python, Tableau, and PowerPoint to visualize key metrics and performance indicators.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic decision-making through data-driven insights.
• Assist in preparing presentations and reports for senior leadership to communicate findings and recommendations.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Excellent proficiency in Excel, Python, and Tableau.
• Solid understanding of data analysis concepts and techniques.
• Experience with PowerPoint for creating impactful presentations.
• Great attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Effective communication skills to convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
