The Operations Intern role within the Helix team at Dentons offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in legal operations and client service delivery. This internship, lasting 8 weeks, is designed for individuals who are currently enrolled in or have recently graduated from an undergraduate program, particularly those with an interest in law, business, operations, technology, AI, or data analytics.
Responsibilities
- Gather, organize, and analyze legal and operational data related to key workstreams, including matter progress, deadlines, workload, and service delivery.
- Assist in the creation of trackers, dashboards, and summary reports to help the team monitor status, performance, risks, and areas for improvement.
- Evaluate existing workflows, templates, and trackers to identify opportunities for enhancing efficiency, consistency, and quality.
- Support the mapping and documentation of current processes, detailing key steps, handovers, stakeholders, dependencies, and potential bottlenecks.
- Ensure accurate and organized documentation is maintained, including matter trackers, action logs, project notes, and shared resources.
- Develop practical materials such as checklists, guidance notes, reporting templates, and process documents to facilitate consistent service delivery.
- Communicate with colleagues to gather updates, clarify information, and ensure data is complete and reliable, aiding the team in drawing actionable conclusions and identifying next steps.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an undergraduate program, preferably with a focus on law, business, operations, technology, AI, data analytics, or professional services.
- Demonstrated strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Confidence in working with data, including the ability to interpret information, identify trends, and draw practical conclusions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience with Power BI is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of summarizing information clearly and concisely.
- A proactive, curious, and collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively in a hybrid team setting.
- Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion and sound judgment.
