An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Physiotherapist to join the Rapid Assessment and Discharge Service (RADS) team at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. This permanent position is based at the Leicester Royal Infirmary, where you will work within the Emergency Department and associated units.

Job Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality physiotherapy care within a busy acute environment.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments for patients in the Emergency Department and associated units.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support admission avoidance and optimize patient flow.
  • Promote patient independence and prevent deconditioning during hospital stays.
  • Contribute to service development, clinical research, and audits.
  • Provide supervision and training for students and junior staff.
  • Engage in continual professional development through regular appraisals and training opportunities.

Requirements

  • Hold a Diploma in Physiotherapy or a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy or an equivalent qualification.
  • Be a State Registered Physiotherapist with current HCPC registration.
  • Maintain an up-to-date professional portfolio demonstrating continuing professional development (CPD) and reflective practice.
  • Demonstrate experience working as part of a team and managing a variety of clinical placements.
  • Possess good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal.
  • Show evidence of the ability to prioritize workload effectively.
  • Exhibit a commitment to treating all individuals with dignity and respect.
