Windows Phone 7 MarketPlace Petition to open up for non-approved countries

As you might be aware that Windows Phone 7 Market place is currently available to the following 17 countries Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and United States .

For the people from other countries , just try changing the location of windows to one of the supported countries of the Marketplace . This should work .

Now , there is a petition seeking signatures on Petition Online for Microsoft to open up Marketplace access beyond the 17 registered countries Marketplace.

The petition was created by and written by Alan Mendelevich.

The petition states that

“Windows Phone 7 devices are now available in many countries around the world and we love them. Yet the Windows Phone App Marketplace is only available in 17 countries. Customers in other countries are stuck with smartphones with no access to any 3rd party apps unless they cheat and change their country/region in numerous places. And even then most of them can’t buy paid apps with their perfectly valid credit cards based on the country they were issued…

If you wish to include your voice too , you can find how to do it on PetitionOnline.

I am not sure how this might help , but definitely see more people in the community interested on Windows Phone 7 .
