Visual Basic 6 Support statements on Windows 8

Are you a Visual Basic 6 developer and looking for some information on the compatibility of the VB6 applications and IDE on Windows 8?

Microsoft has described it in a document “Support Statement for Visual Basic 6.0 on Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7, and Windows 8” in MSDN.

The Visual Basic team is committed to “It Just Works” compatibility for Visual Basic 6.0 applications on Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008 including R2, Windows 7, and Windows 8. The Visual Basic team’s goal is that Visual Basic 6.0 applications that run on Windows XP will also run on Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7, and Windows 8.

It’s an interesting and must read document for the existing Visual Basic Developers and provides a good information on the Visual Basic 6.0 on Windows 8.
