Undergraduate Commercial Overview

Join BAE Systems as an Undergraduate in a Commercial role, where you will play a vital part in managing and developing strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and partners. This position is based at our Samlesbury/Warton locations in Lancashire and is part of a 12-month placement starting in June 2027.

Role Overview

In this role, you will be involved in the Commercial function, which encompasses two key areas: Contracts and Estimating. The Contracts team focuses on applying commercial policies, managing contracts, and developing customer bids and proposals. The Estimating team is responsible for producing cost estimates to support bid pricing and contract delivery.

Core Responsibilities

• Prepare and draft commercial bids and proposals.
• Support contract and price negotiations, customer audits, and contract closures.
• Administer and prepare data for Senior Management Reviews.
• Maintain awareness of governance processes and best practices in commercial operations.
• Interpret contract requirements, including terms and conditions.
• Validate or challenge functional estimate returns to promote affordable and profitable solutions.
• Deploy cost estimates for work area budgets.

Security and Residency Requirements

To qualify for this role, you must be on track to obtain at least a 2:2 Bachelor’s degree or a pass at Master’s level in any subject.
