Role Overview

The Transmission Line Worker will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations while performing a variety of tasks related to Transmission Line maintenance and construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while performing duties.
• Demonstrate a solid understanding of UK regulations relevant to Transmission Line work.
• Perform rigging tasks as required.
• Execute blocking or clipping-in tasks on tension and suspension towers.
• Conduct spacering tasks effectively.
• Utilize a spacer trolley safely.
• Apply earthing schemes to overhead line conductors.
• Safely operate platforms, ladders, and other equipment.
• Carry out jointing tasks including socks, stockings, and permanent joints.
• Perform jumping tasks as needed.
• Execute in-situ steel replacement tasks.
• Interpret and read schematic diagrams and drawings.
• Collaborate effectively as part of a team.
• Maintain a strong work ethic and positive attitude.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in high-voltage Transmission Line projects.
• Experience working at height.
• Proven experience in the maintenance of high-voltage Transmission Lines (110KV and above).
• Experience with high voltage overhead line tension/stringing.
• Familiarity with tower assembly and erection using cranes or derricks.
• Formal qualifications in a relevant field are preferred.
• Experience operating pullers/tensioners, erection or tractor winches is desirable.
• Possession of a valid UK driving license is preferred; assistance for conversion is available.
• International applicants must meet Home Office requirements for the Skilled Worker Visa, including passing the UKVI IELTS or providing proof of English proficiency, obtaining a clear Tuberculosis test if applicable, and having a clean immigration history.

Working Pattern

This is a full-time position with varying hours: 10 hours per day during the summer and 9 hours per day in the winter.
