Skills Provision is seeking skilled and experienced High-Voltage Overhead Transmission Line workers for various positions throughout the United Kingdom. These roles are classified as ‘roaming’, meaning that work will not be confined to a single location. The positions are permanent and offer a competitive salary of £22.52 per hour, with a fixed rate of £66 per day during standby periods.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct risk assessments related to health and safety, identifying hazards and ensuring safe working practices.
• Perform rigging tasks, including blocking and clipping-in on tension and suspension line towers.
• Execute spacering and de-spacering tasks safely using a Spacer Trolley.
• Apply earthing schemes to overhead line conductors.
• Utilize platforms, ladders, and other equipment for work on tension, suspension, or line towers.
• Carry out jointing tasks, including the use of socks, stockings, and permanent joints.
• Undertake jumpering tasks and in-situ steelwork replacements.
• Interpret and read tower drawings for assembly and erection.
• Install down leads according to provided diagrams.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and adapt to changing work environments.

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of continuous experience in high-voltage overhead line transmission projects.
• Experience working at heights of up to 75 meters on steel lattice towers.
• Proven experience in maintenance work on high voltage transmission lines.
• Experience in high voltage overhead line tension and stringing.
• Familiarity with tower assembly and erection using cranes or derricks.
• Formal qualifications relevant to the field are desirable.
• Experience operating pullers, tensioners, or tractor winches is a plus.
• A valid UK car driving license or international driving permit is preferred, with conversion assistance available if needed.
• International applicants must meet Home Office requirements for the Skilled Worker Visa, including passing the UKVI IELTS or providing proof of English proficiency, obtaining a clear Tuberculosis test (if applicable), and having a clean immigration history.
