Join our Process Safety Compliance Team as a Statutory Compliance Project Manager, where you will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with the Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations (DSEAR). This position involves managing compliance efforts and providing essential support to various stakeholders within Severn Trent and Hafren Dyfrdwy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the implementation and ongoing compliance with DSEAR regulations.
  • Conduct DSEAR site risk assessments and hazardous area classifications.
  • Ensure compliance across all functional areas of the company.
  • Manage periodic inspections of assets and equipment in hazardous areas.
  • Support the rectification of non-compliant equipment and installations.
  • Control risks associated with DSEAR activities.
  • Enhance asset data and maintenance planning related to DSEAR.
  • Provide technical support and share best practices regarding DSEAR compliance.
  • Manage contractors to ensure compliance and successful delivery of DSEAR tasks.
  • Assist in improving DSEAR competency across the organization.
  • Support Health & Safety standards and regulation updates.
  • Manage information to measure performance against compliance criteria.
  • Maintain relationships with stakeholders through regular meetings.
  • Develop systems to meet DSEAR requirements and company standards.
  • Handle financial management related to compliance activities.
  • Collaborate with capital delivery teams and safety groups to share best practices.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience in delivering multi-site projects with operational and health & safety risks.
  • Strong understanding of DSEAR and associated standards.
  • Familiarity with water industry standards and wastewater treatment processes.
  • Proven experience in managing contractors and suppliers.
  • Beneficial knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Desirable qualifications include NVQ level 3, CompEx, APM or equivalent, and IOSH/NEBOSH.
  • A full UK driving license is required.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to contribute to the community.
