We are seeking a passionate and motivated Rotational Occupational Therapist to join our team at Barts Health NHS Trust. This role offers an exciting opportunity for both recently qualified and experienced Band 5 therapists to make a significant impact on patients’ lives through high-quality occupational therapy interventions.
The successful candidate will engage in six-month rotations across various specialties at multiple hospital sites, including the Royal London Hospital, Whipps Cross University Hospital, Newham University Hospital, and St Bartholomew’s Hospital. Specialties include Medicine, Respiratory, Oncology, Stroke, Neurosurgery, Older People Services, Trauma, Orthopedics, Surgery, Vascular & Amputees, Cardio-Respiratory, and Accident & Emergency.
Main Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality occupational therapy interventions to a diverse patient population.
- Conduct assessments and provide treatment, including individual and group education sessions.
- Supply assistive devices and facilitate minor home adaptations.
- Work collaboratively within established therapy teams across various specialties.
Qualifications and Experience
- Essential: Degree in Occupational Therapy and registration with HCPC.
- Essential: Completion of varied clinical placements.
Skills Required
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and delegate tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills for clear information delivery to patients and caregivers.
- Understanding of legal and ethical responsibilities in occupational therapy.
- Competence in IT and maintaining accurate patient documentation.
- Capability to perform physical tasks and manage a fast-paced work environment.
