Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technical roadmap for Search, Retrieval, Ranking, and Recommendation systems within the Trips vertical.
• Translate high-level business goals into actionable machine learning architectures and scalable production systems.
• Design, prototype, and scale innovative recommendation and ranking models to address complex travel journeys.
• Oversee the deployment of efficient retrieval and ranking pipelines capable of processing billions of travel data points in real-time.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineering Leads, and Data Science peers to optimize multi-task business objectives.
• Act as the primary technical authority for machine learning initiatives within the Trips vertical.
• Mentor and coach senior and mid-level machine learning scientists, fostering a culture of technical excellence and best practices.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or a highly quantitative field.
• 8+ years of industry experience in developing and deploying large-scale machine learning models in production environments.
• Demonstrated success in delivering systems that serve millions of active users.
• Deep theoretical and practical knowledge in state-of-the-art retrieval and ranking techniques.
• Hands-on experience with sequential recommendation systems that adapt to user dynamics.
• Strong understanding of embedding generation and multi-modal representation learning.
• Proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks, along with experience in distributed computing and cloud infrastructure.
• Familiarity with Graph Neural Networks and their application in travel contexts.
• Experience with Agentic AI frameworks and generative AI for enhancing search capabilities.
