SevenRooms, a hospitality technology platform recently acquired by DoorDash, is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to join their team in London. The SevenRooms product is designed to enhance restaurant operations and marketing, enabling operators to leverage data for improved revenue and customer relationships. The In-Store Technology organization at DoorDash, which includes a team of over 70 engineers and builders, is focused on transforming the hospitality industry through innovative technology solutions.

As a Backend Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and improving software systems. Your work will focus on creating customer-facing features that provide exceptional experiences for restaurant partners. You will take ownership of features from design to implementation, ensuring high-quality delivery throughout the development lifecycle. Additionally, you will manage project priorities, deadlines, and code quality, and participate in on-call duties to maintain system performance.

This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, including engineers, product managers, and designers, to develop real solutions that drive growth and innovation in the hospitality sector. You will work with a modern tech stack that includes Python, Django, and cloud infrastructure to build scalable solutions.

To be considered for this position, candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, along with at least 3 years of software engineering experience. A strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and software design is essential, as is proficiency in Python or another modern backend technology. Candidates should be passionate about building customer-facing features and capable of taking ownership of technical solutions from conception to deployment. The ability to thrive in collaborative environments and work effectively with cross-functional teams is also important.
