Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and implementation of significant features, ensuring a balance between security, privacy, and performance.
• Collaborate with Product and Data teams to translate high-level business objectives into detailed technical specifications, often acting as the technical lead for long-term projects.
• Set high standards for code quality, mentor junior and mid-level engineers, and promote best practices in code review.
• Utilize AI tools strategically to enhance planning, clarify ambiguous tasks, and establish new monitoring and reliability standards.
• Define operational strategies and design fault-tolerant architectures, proactively identifying risks and setting automation and monitoring standards.
• Seek opportunities to simplify or retire legacy code to enhance team efficiency and reduce complexity.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering, with a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong expertise in distributed systems and experience in building scalable backend systems in cloud environments.
• Ability to analyze and validate technical decisions using operational data or experimental results.
• Proficiency in at least one modern backend programming language such as Java, C#, Go, or Python, along with familiarity with modern front-end frameworks.
• Experience coding with AI tools like Cursor or Codex/Claude/Open Code.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and making trade-offs between non-functional requirements and delivery timelines.
• Proven collaborative leadership skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with NoSQL databases, GraphQL, Kafka, or containerization technologies like Docker/Kubernetes is a plus.
