As a Senior Product Data Scientist at Tripadvisor, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our analytics capabilities. This position is not just technical; it is designed to significantly influence our product’s future by integrating deep quantitative insights into its foundation. You will help define how data science can tackle our most pressing challenges and mentor a skilled team of product analysts while leading the creation of models and frameworks that propel our product strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of data science initiatives within the product team, creating statistical models that influence product insights and customer experiences.
• Utilize your expertise to enhance the effectiveness of the Product Analytics team through data science methodologies.
• Develop automation and self-service model capabilities to improve experimentation speed and operational efficiency.
• Design and implement advanced statistical models, including predictive and clustering models, to enhance product features such as personalization and recommendations.
• Explore new tools and approaches, including Agentic AI, to identify opportunities and drive their adoption through proof of concepts.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to pinpoint high-impact areas where data science can address customer challenges and enhance product offerings.
• Promote a culture of experimentation by designing and analyzing complex A/B tests and causal inference models to guide product decisions.
• Mentor product analysts on best practices in experimentation, modeling, and data-driven product development, while defining the roadmap for Product Data Science.
• Effectively communicate complex data insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Skills & Experience

• Extensive experience in data science or a related quantitative role, with a proven ability to support and influence product teams.
• Advanced skills in Python and SQL, with deep hands-on experience in statistical modeling and various machine learning techniques.
• Ability to define and operationalize key product metrics from the ground up.
• Proven track record of leading technical discussions and driving product strategy while effectively communicating insights to cross-functional teams.
• Experience in scaling impact through automated processes and self-service tools.
• Strong critical thinking skills demonstrated through the ability to analyze facts and evidence to form sound judgments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline.
