This position offers an exciting opportunity for a Senior Kubernetes Platform Engineer to design, operate, and continuously improve Kubernetes platforms that support demanding production environments. The role involves hands-on technical ownership and the chance to influence platform architecture and infrastructure roadmaps. You will work with distributed, multinational teams to establish reliable, scalable, and secure engineering practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, operate, maintain, and enhance Kubernetes-based platforms for large-scale production environments.
- Manage the lifecycle of Kubernetes clusters, including ingress controllers, service meshes, cert-manager, and other related components.
- Create and maintain Helm charts and Kustomize configurations to facilitate repeatable platform deployments.
- Utilize OKD/OpenShift and other platform technologies to deliver robust infrastructure solutions.
- Automate the provisioning and configuration of platforms using Terraform and Helm.
- Design and manage CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows, particularly with ArgoCD deployment models.
- Develop automation tools and platform utilities using programming languages such as Go, Python, and/or Bash.
- Enhance observability solutions through tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
- Establish and implement SLI/SLO frameworks for distributed systems to improve reliability and operational visibility.
- Incorporate security standards and compliance requirements into infrastructure architectures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and international teams on technical projects, platform roadmaps, and infrastructure enhancements.
- Mentor team members, share technical knowledge, and support the ongoing improvement of engineering practices.
- Produce and maintain documentation for platforms, including architecture decision records, runbooks, and technical designs.
Requirements
- Several years of professional experience in DevOps, platform engineering, infrastructure, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience with Kubernetes in a production setting, focusing on cluster lifecycle management and core components.
- Strong practical skills in Terraform and Helm for automating infrastructure and managing configurations.
- Experience with OKD or OpenShift is essential.
- Proven ability to design and operate CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows, preferably using ArgoCD.
- Strong programming or scripting skills in Go, Python, and/or Bash.
- Solid understanding of observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry, with practical experience in applying these to distributed systems.
- Experience with designing SLI/SLO frameworks and principles of reliability engineering.
- Knowledge of security standards and practices, with the ability to integrate compliance requirements into infrastructure designs.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of effective collaboration with technical and cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated experience in mentoring or a willingness to assist in the technical development of peers.
- A structured, autonomous, and proactive work approach, comfortable in multinational and distributed team settings.
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
