Senior Clinical Psychologist Overview

We are looking for a Senior Clinical Psychologist with a focus on cardiac patients to join the Directorate of Psychology at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals. This role requires experience in remote psychological service delivery and the ability to adapt practices to meet evolving service needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the vision and objectives of the Directorate of Psychology.
• Deliver psychological interventions to patients, their carers, and staff to enhance psychological wellbeing.
• Conduct individual and group psychological interventions for patients at the Lancashire Cardiac Centre.
• Facilitate reflective practice and consultation sessions as necessary.
• Participate in clinical supervision, acting as both supervisor and supervisee as required.

Qualifications and Experience

• Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (D.Clin.Psy) or equivalent.
• Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
• Experience in remote work with diverse client groups across the lifespan and clinical severity.
• Post-qualification experience as a clinical psychologist (or equivalent) within the NHS.
• Ability to use complex psychological assessment and intervention methods requiring sustained concentration.
• Strong communication skills and effective management of clinical workloads and research programs.
• Ability to teach, train, and supervise others using various multimedia materials.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and SPSS.

• Salary between £57,528 and £64,750 per year.
