Sales Director – South Overview

Company Name Rightmove
Job Role Sales Director – South
Qualifications Bachelor’s
Category Sales Jobs
Job Type Full Time
Location Rest of UK

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales Director to join our Estate Agency team at Rightmove, the UK’s leading property platform. This home-based role, with travel around the South of the UK, is crucial in helping us achieve our vision of simplifying the moving process for everyone.

As a Sales Director, you will lead a team of up to four Area Directors, each responsible for high-performing, field-based Account Management teams. Your success will depend on your ability to influence, challenge, and develop these leaders through trust and credibility rather than directive management. You will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our agency’s strategic plan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the UK sales teams, ensuring effective team development and fostering key customer relationships.
  • Oversee daily operations of the sales teams to guarantee optimal performance.
  • Drive the team to consistently achieve or surpass established KPIs and sales targets.
  • Set clear expectations and model desired behaviors to create an environment conducive to achieving account plans and objectives.
  • Develop and support territory and area plans that align with overall sales targets.
  • Implement account planning discipline, including prioritization, growth planning, and execution cadence.
  • Utilize data-driven planning and decision-making to translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key customers and influencers in the region.
  • Collaborate with other departments and exemplify effective management of key accounts to fulfill business strategy.
  • Align leaders and teams through clear communication of messaging, purpose, and priorities.
  • Create a supportive environment that encourages desired behaviors and successful delivery.
  • Lead and develop senior sales leaders, ensuring alignment around strategy and execution.
  • Coach Area Directors to elevate standards, challenge thinking, and cultivate successors.
  • Implement strategic changes across teams with varying levels of readiness and willingness.
  • Leverage data to identify root causes, challenge assumptions, and set direction beyond mere performance tracking.
  • Establish a strong leadership rhythm that balances pace, governance, and adaptability.

Who You Are

  • Demonstrated experience in B2B sales management with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong leadership skills with a history of guiding large sales teams to consistently exceed targets.
  • Excellent analytical and planning capabilities.
  • A true sales leader who inspires and drives teams beyond mere forecasting and administration.
  • Self-motivated and an independent thinker, passionate about leading teams and promoting best practices for commercial success.
  • Experience in leading senior sales leaders (manager-of-managers) within a complex B2B environment.
  • Ability to influence through credibility and relationships rather than positional authority.
  • Highly capable coach who utilizes coaching to shift behavior, mindset, and leadership impact at scale.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, pushback, and competing priorities.
  • Data-confident leader who employs insights to drive decisions rather than just reporting outcomes.
  • Self-aware and adaptable leadership style, capable of adjusting challenge or listening based on situational demands.
