We are currently seeking Project Managers to lead various projects within our optical communication sectors. You will be responsible for managing both internal and external projects, which include advancing the R&D of our TERRA-M Optical Ground Station and organizing international test campaigns. Your contributions will be vital in delivering cutting-edge laser communication technologies that aim to transform global connectivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee product developments and projects, ensuring they adhere to defined scope, timeline, and budget while collaborating with the PM and Engineering teams.
• Work with the engineering team to convert technical requirements into clear project scopes and plans.
• Coordinate with Technical Leads to align Product Development Plans with technical tasks and provide accurate inputs for Programme and Portfolio controls.
• Identify and manage project risks and interdependencies, evaluating their effects on timelines and cross-functional workflows.
• Monitor project finances and forecasts, contributing to financial tracking at the Programme and Company levels.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers and customers.
• Engage in formal documentation review and change control processes.

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience in full-lifecycle product development in Hardware and/or Software, preferably in an R&D-intensive organization, particularly in deep tech or the space sector.
• Understanding of stage-gate development processes and product development cycles from R&D to production handover.
• Experience managing stakeholders from commercial and quasi-governmental organizations such as Innovate UK, UKSA, and ESA.
• Proficiency in controlling project finances, including development forecasts and public funding claims and audits.
• Project management qualification or extensive relevant experience, or completion of a recognized project management apprenticeship with industry experience.
• Desirable skills include experience in a start-up environment, knowledge of ground segment or satellite systems, and familiarity with laser communication technology.

Working Pattern

Our office is located in Osney Mead, Oxford, with opportunities for remote work as agreed with your line manager. Some business travel may be required.
