This position involves leading the machine learning strategy that enhances how millions of users search for and organize their travel itineraries. You will bridge the gap between advanced AI research and practical engineering, directly impacting user engagement and booking conversions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technical roadmap for Search, Retrieval, Ranking, and Recommendation systems within the Trips vertical.
• Translate high-level business goals into concrete machine learning architectures and scalable production systems.
• Design, prototype, and scale next-generation recommendation and ranking models to solve complex travel journeys.
• Oversee the deployment of low-latency, high-throughput retrieval and ranking pipelines capable of processing billions of travel data points in real-time.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineering Leads, and Data Science peers to optimize multi-task business objectives.
• Act as the primary technical authority for machine learning initiatives within the Trips vertical.
• Mentor and coach senior and mid-level machine learning scientists, fostering a culture of technical excellence.

Skills & Experience

• Education: Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or a highly quantitative field.
• Experience: 8+ years in developing and deploying large-scale machine learning models in production environments.
• Core Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge in state-of-the-art retrieval and ranking systems, including Multi-Task Learning and complex recommendation systems.
• Technical Stack: Proficiency in Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, distributed computing, and cloud infrastructure.
• Desired: Experience with Graph Neural Networks and Agentic AI frameworks.
