Role Overview

The Graduate Airframe Engineering position encompasses four key disciplines: Aerodynamics, Design, Materials, and Structures. Each discipline plays a vital role in the engineering lifecycle, ensuring that products meet customer requirements and maintain safety and performance standards.

Core Responsibilities

• Aerodynamics: Utilize wind tunnel testing and computational techniques to analyze and optimize aircraft designs, ensuring safe operation across the flight envelope.
• Design Engineering: Liaise with stakeholders, manage product bill of materials, and create CAD definitions for optimized and manufacturable products.
• Materials Engineering: Analyze, qualify, and test materials, investigate their properties and failures, and develop new materials for airborne platforms.
• Structures Engineering: Conduct structural analysis calculations to validate the strength, stiffness, and structural integrity of BAE Systems platforms.

Qualification Requirements

To qualify for this role, candidates must have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, at least a 2:2 Bachelor’s degree or a pass at Master’s level in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or Mathematics.
