Data Engineer Overview

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join a dynamic, tech-driven company based in Ipswich, Suffolk. This permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to take charge of an existing AWS data environment and transform it into a scalable, best-in-class platform that supports critical business decisions across various departments including Product, Finance, and Operations.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Taking ownership of the existing AWS data environment and enhancing it into a scalable platform.
• Building and optimizing data pipelines using AWS tools such as S3, Glue, Lambda, Athena, and Redshift.
• Integrating various API data sources to ensure seamless data flow.
• Delivering high-quality datasets for analytics and reporting purposes.
• Working on data visualization using QuickSight and influencing data usage across the organization.
• Implementing best practices and improving the architecture of the data platform.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer with a strong focus on AWS technologies.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python.
• Strong SQL skills for data manipulation and querying.
• Experience in data architecture and building scalable data solutions.
• Familiarity with AWS services including Lambda, Athena, and QuickSight.

This position offers a competitive salary of up to £80,000 per annum, depending on experience, along with a flexible working environment that allows for one day of remote work every fortnight.
