Data Engineer Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join a dynamic and growing technology-driven business located in Ipswich, Suffolk. This role offers a unique opportunity to take charge of an existing AWS data environment and transform it into a scalable, best-in-class platform that will support critical business decisions across various departments, including Product, Finance, and Operations.

As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Taking ownership of the existing AWS data environment and enhancing it into a scalable platform that supports business decisions across various departments including Product, Finance, and Operations.
• Working hands-on with AWS tools such as S3, Glue, Lambda, Athena, and Redshift to build and optimize data pipelines.
• Integrating API data sources and delivering high-quality datasets for analytics and reporting.
• Contributing to data visualization efforts using QuickSight and influencing data utilization across the organization.
• Implementing best practices and improving data architecture to ensure the platform’s scalability.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer with a strong focus on AWS technologies.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL.
• Experience in data architecture and building data pipelines.
• Familiarity with AWS services including Lambda, Athena, and QuickSight.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a flexible and supportive environment.

This position offers a competitive salary ranging from £60,000 to £80,000 per annum, depending on experience. You will have the opportunity to work in a collaborative and innovative environment with a strong emphasis on learning and development for career growth. The working pattern is hybrid, requiring you to be in the office one day every fortnight.
