Associate Counsel, Growth & Partnerships Hybrid Overview

OpenTable is seeking a pragmatic and business-oriented Associate Counsel for Growth & Partnerships to join its Legal team in London. This hybrid role requires in-office presence two days a week and involves managing a fast-paced legal function, focusing on commercial transactions and providing guidance on global marketing and advertising law.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate various international commercial agreements related to marketing and advertising, strategic partnerships, and vendor contracts.
• Review and approve advertising and marketing materials to ensure compliance with global legal standards.
• Advise on brand and intellectual property matters, including trademark and copyright issues.
• Provide guidance on global regulatory and marketing compliance obligations.
• Deliver innovative legal advice to business partners, balancing risks with commercial objectives.
• Develop scalable legal resources to assist Marketing and Partnerships teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and legal colleagues as necessary.

Qualifications/Experience

• Qualified solicitor or barrister in England & Wales (or equivalent qualification) in good standing.
• 3+ years of experience in marketing, advertising, and commercial contracting, with knowledge of UK/EU advertising law.
• Strong understanding of advertising regulations and intellectual property licensing.
• Proven ability to negotiate and close commercial agreements efficiently.
• Excellent judgment and communication skills.
• Highly motivated and resourceful, with a collaborative nature.
• Adaptability to take on new legal tasks.
