Category Healthcare Jobs
Job Type Full Time

We are seeking an Accredited Clinical Vascular Scientist to join our team at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. This role offers a unique opportunity for both experienced professionals and those looking to expand their skills in vascular ultrasound examinations. We are dedicated to supporting your development through training and mentorship, enabling you to gain competency in areas that may not currently be within your scope of practice.

Your primary workplace will be at the Denmark Hill site, although some cross-site work may be required. The Vascular Lab at King’s is one of the busiest in the UK, providing a dynamic environment for skill development. Our services include a comprehensive range of vascular ultrasound investigations, such as:

  • Transcranial imaging for the national paediatric sickle cell screening program
  • Renal artery and transplant kidney assessments
  • Vascular access for dialysis fistula and mapping, including endo-AVF
  • Specialized work for diabetic foot, including pedal arterial and ultra-distal bypass graft surveillance
  • Urgent scans for vasculitis, such as GCA pathways
  • Standard scans including peripheral arterial, venous, and carotid assessments

We provide tailored support based on your existing experience, ensuring that sufficient senior support is available while promoting independent practice. Additionally, there are opportunities to engage in teaching and training, as we host STP trainees, non-STP trainees, and undergraduate students from Gloucester University. All scientists are allocated time away from direct patient care to participate in audit and project work, with many projects presented at various conferences.

King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is committed to delivering high-quality patient care and fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment. We are pursuing ambitious goals to transform healthcare and achieve sustainability through our Green Plan, aiming for net zero carbon targets by 2040.

To qualify for this position, candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, accreditation with HCPC or CSVS (or be nearing completion), and competency in standard vascular ultrasound scans. Significant experience in performing and reporting vascular ultrasound is essential, along with strong communication skills and the ability to manage a demanding workload. We welcome applications from individuals who require Skilled Worker sponsorship to work in the UK.

If you are interested in this opportunity, please apply before the closing date of 28 October 2026.
