Today, Microsoft has announced at the Microsoft Build conference that the Windows 8.1 preview will available from download starting today.
What is Windows 8.1?
Windows 8.1 is an update to the existing windows 8 and currently the preview version of windows 8.1 is made available for download. The preview version of windows 8.1 will provide the user with the option to try out and explore the features of windows 8.1.
What are the features in Windows 8.1?
Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft announced some of the features of the Windows 8.1 which looked promising. Some of the features in Windows 8.1 are

- Boot directly to desktop
- Global Search Options
- Updated version of SkyDrive
- Improved Multitasking
- Better Personalization
