ORA-00054: resource busy and acquire with NOWAIT specified

Reason for the Error

You attempted to use the NOWAIT keyword to execute a LOCK TABLE or SELECT FOR UPDATE command, but the resource was unavailable.

Alternatively, you attempted to DROP a COLUMN using the ALTER TABLE command and received an error.

Solution

If the error occurred while attempting to DROP a COLUMN, make a backup of the data.

Then TRUNCATE the table and run the DROP COLUMN command once more.
