We are excited to announce a vacancy for Urgent Care Practitioners at Derbyshire Community Health Services NHSFT. This role offers varying hours and requires a professional registration with either the NMC or HCPC. As an Urgent Care Practitioner, you will be responsible for conducting autonomous assessments, examinations, and documentation while adhering to clinical guidelines under the supervision of senior clinicians.

Your main duties will include engaging in Shift Lead responsibilities to ensure that patients receive care from the appropriate personnel at the right time and place. You will provide clinical expertise in the management of adults and children presenting with minor injuries and illnesses within a Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) setting. Additionally, you will be expected to commit to a capability framework and uphold the standards of ‘The DCHS Way’.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments and examinations for patients under senior clinician supervision.
  • Engage in Shift Lead duties to ensure proper patient care.
  • Provide clinical expertise and make informed decisions for patients with minor injuries and illnesses.
  • Commit to a capability framework and adhere to ‘The DCHS Way’.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Professional registration with NMC or HCPC is essential.
  • A qualification in minor injuries or minor illness management, or equivalent experience is required.
  • Completion of a Level 6 module in Physical Examination and Clinical Reasoning, or willingness to start within 12 months.
  • Over two years of post-registration experience in an acute or urgent care environment is essential.
  • Desirable qualifications include a teaching qualification and pediatric training.
  • Ability to work flexibly across UTC sites and take on Shift Lead responsibilities.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary of £39,959 to £48,117 per year, pro rata.
  • Permanent contract with options for full-time or part-time work.
