We are excited to announce a vacancy for the position of Urgent Care Practitioner at Derbyshire Community Health Services NHSFT. This role offers varying hours and requires a professional registration with either the NMC or HCPC. As an Urgent Care Practitioner, you will be responsible for conducting autonomous assessments and examinations, documenting clinical findings, and adhering to clinical guidelines for patient treatment under the supervision of senior clinicians.

Your main duties will include engaging in Shift Lead responsibilities to ensure that patients receive care from the appropriate personnel at the right time and place. You will also seek clinical expertise for judgment and decision-making in the treatment of adults and children with undifferentiated diagnoses of minor injuries and illnesses within an Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) setting. Derbyshire Community Health Services NHSFT aims to provide community health services to a patient population exceeding one million in Derbyshire and Derby. We employ around 4,200 staff members and deliver care across 11 community hospitals and over 30 health centers, as well as in clinics, GP practices, schools, care homes, and increasingly through virtual consultations.

Qualifications

Essential

• Professional registration with NMC or HCPC.
• Qualification in minor injuries or minor illness management or equivalent experience.
• Willingness to undertake a Level 6 module in Physical Examination and Clinical Reasoning within 12 months.
• Over two years of post-registration experience in an acute or urgent care environment.

Desirable

• Teaching qualification.
• Pediatrics training.

Skills and Attributes

• Ability to work flexibly across UTC sites.
• Capability to function as a Shift Lead.

Benefits

• Salary between £39,959 and £48,117 per annum, pro rata.
