Role Overview

This 12-month industrial placement will take place in Rochester, Kent, starting in June 2027. As a placement student, you will engage in collaborative projects that may involve various systems, including Head Up, Head Down, or Head Worn Displays, Safety Critical Pilot Controls, Vehicle Control Systems, and Mission Systems across multiple platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team members to develop, validate, and maintain product requirements.
• Contribute to system development utilizing a Model Based Engineering (MBE) approach.
• Create or assist in theoretical analyses and disseminate findings.
• Perform modeling of behavioral scenarios or system performance to comprehend system operations and interactions.
• Conduct laboratory tests on real-time systems that involve interdependent technical disciplines, including electronic, mechanical, optical, and software components.

Qualifications

To qualify for this role, you must be on track to obtain at least a 2:2 Bachelor’s degree or a pass at Master’s level in any STEM subject.

Security and Vetting

Please note that many roles at BAE Systems are subject to security and export control restrictions. Applicants must meet the Baseline Personnel Security Standard, and some positions may require higher levels of National Security Vetting, necessitating 5 to 10 years of continuous residency in the UK.
