Join BAE Systems as an Undergraduate Software Engineer and be part of a dynamic team dedicated to pioneering advancements in defence, aerospace, and security solutions. This 12-month placement, starting in June 2027, is based in Rochester, Kent, where you will work closely with both Electronic and Systems Engineers to develop complex Safety Critical Software that must perform flawlessly in real-world applications.
Role Description
As a Software Engineer within the Electronic Systems team, you will be assigned to a project where your contributions will address engineering challenges. Your responsibilities will encompass the full Software Lifecycle, including:
- Contributing to the development and maintenance of software solutions.
- Testing, debugging, and enhancing software to ensure quality and reliability.
- Supporting software integration, release, and maintenance activities.
- Producing technical documentation and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborating with engineers and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver assigned tasks.
- Supporting local STEM initiatives.
