This position is for a Theatre Practitioner based in Accrington, offering a permanent, full-time role with a commitment of 37.5 hours per week. The working schedule spans over 4 days within a 7-day period, which may include weekends. Standard shifts typically run from 07:30 to 17:30, with some flexibility required based on patient needs. As part of the training, practitioners may need to travel to other CHEC hospitals to gain exposure to diverse teams and practices.

The Theatre Practitioners are integral to providing patient-centered care throughout the ophthalmic pathway, from pre-admission to post-operative recovery. They will work in a high-volume theatre environment, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure efficient operations. Responsibilities include establishing a compassionate environment for patients, assisting surgeons, providing scrub support, preparing clinical areas, managing patient admissions and discharges, participating in audits, and demonstrating effective communication and interpersonal skills.

To qualify for this role, candidates must be registered practitioners with the NMC or HCPC, ideally with prior experience in a clinical or theatre setting, particularly involving high-volume procedures. A commitment to ongoing professional development, a proactive approach to teamwork, and knowledge of infection control protocols are essential.
