As a Technical Program Manager within Google’s Strategic Workforce Solutions, you will leverage your technical knowledge to lead intricate, multi-disciplinary projects from inception to completion. Your role will involve collaborating with various stakeholders to define project requirements, assess risks, manage timelines, and maintain clear communication with cross-functional teams throughout the organization.

You will work closely with the Technical Infrastructure team, which is responsible for developing and maintaining data centers and building the next generation of Google platforms. Your contributions will ensure that Google’s product portfolio remains operational and efficient, providing users with the best possible experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Network Design, Capacity Delivery, and Field teams to convert network solutions into standardized, scalable Bill of Materials (BOMs) and design packages for third-party execution across various sites.
• Partner with Automation and Bus Operations to create repeatable, stateless work packages for third-party provisioners and coordinators to execute with minimal oversight.
• Engage with site acquisition, edge infrastructure, and colocation providers to devise solutions for rapid, scalable deployments and comprehensive life-cycle operations support.
• Manage the vendor selection process, onboarding, and oversight to support Google’s networking mission.
• Serve as the primary technical escalation point for quality assurance and service enhancement.
• Drive performance measurement, process improvement, and automation initiatives across internal and external teams to enhance network build quality and reduce repair intervals.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in program or project management, overseeing multi-disciplinary projects.
• Experience working in a data center or Point of Presence (PoP) environment.
• Familiarity with OSP, ISP, AC/DC power systems, environmental controls, and the construction of relay and rack/cabinet/cage systems.
• Knowledge of telecommunications, optical network infrastructure, transmission systems, and Layer 2/3 routers, as well as data services.
• Preferred experience includes managing or directing field operation technicians, engineers, contractors, or vendors in a telecommunications environment.
• Ability to collaborate across various levels and functions, with a strong passion for influencing both tactical and strategic decision-making.
• Experience managing third-party relationships to successfully meet objectives.
• Fluency in English and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time as required.
