As a Staff Software Engineer specializing in Mobile (iOS) at Google, you will be instrumental in developing cutting-edge technologies that transform how billions of users connect and interact with information. Your role will involve working on critical projects that align with Google’s evolving business needs, with opportunities to switch teams and projects as necessary.

The Health Platforms and Devices team focuses on creating innovative products and services aimed at enhancing users’ health and wellness. By integrating Google technologies, AI, health behavior science, and user-centered design, the team strives to make consumer health more personal and actionable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-volume mobile applications and software solutions, creating prototypes to test new concepts quickly.
• Lead the design of significant mobile components and features, ensuring they are scalable and maintainable.
• Implement unit and integration tests while following mobile architecture best practices to ensure high software quality.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers within the team and across the organization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new products and features while managing project priorities and deadlines.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 8 years of experience in software development.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in testing and launching software products.
• At least 5 years of experience in iOS application development.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in software design and architecture.
• Preferred: A Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Preferred: 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Preferred: 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role, guiding project teams and setting technical direction.
• Preferred: 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization with cross-functional or cross-business projects.
• Knowledge of AI systems and tools, with experience leveraging AI tools to enhance productivity.
