As a Staff Software Engineer specializing in Android Growth Systems and App Foundations at Google, you will play a pivotal role in developing next-generation technologies that transform how billions of users connect and interact with information. Your work will involve tackling complex engineering challenges and enhancing infrastructure to ensure a universally accessible and useful experience for users worldwide.
In this position, you will be responsible for:
- Providing technical leadership on high-impact projects.
- Influencing and coaching a distributed team of engineers.
- Facilitating alignment and clarity across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines.
- Managing project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing large-scale software solutions.
To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 8 years of experience in software development.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in testing and launching software products.
- 5 years of experience in Android application development.
- 3 years of experience in software design and architecture.
Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, along with 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms, and 3 years in a technical leadership role. Experience in a complex, matrixed organization and familiarity with modern Android development practices such as Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and Material Design are also advantageous.
